Marie Anselmo’s second memoir, “Last One In Lockup,” reveals the comings and goings of a very large family. The objective of the book’s design is to convey the unique way the family “signs in and out” of the house as they come and go. Actual notes and messages from original sign-in sheets along with real family photos correlating to specific individual family accounts are interspersed throughout the book. The notes range from amusing cartoons to notes of encouragement to sometimes comical comments from one family member to another. The result is a lighthearted, familiar narrative that portrays many family’s typical “ins and outs.”
