The Woodruff Foundation was established in 1986 to enhance, through financial support, the development and delivery of mental health services and chemical dependency treatment in Ohio’s Cuyahoga County.
The Woodruff Forum is an annual event to heighten community awareness and encourage dialogue on critical issues facing the behavioral health care system in Cuyahoga County. Each year at the event, the Woodruff Prize is presented to an organization that helps spur innovation in behavioral health care. The event’s save-the-date post cards are changed from year-to-year to represent the differing aspects of mental health. Designs have included: a mathematical problem using the event date to form a simple solution indicating Behavioral Health is More Complex than One Simple Solution; the use of varied type within the design to signify the varied issues of behavioral health; and the transformation of the logo into an award ribbon with the headline Everyone Likes Prizes, in reference to the Woodruff Prize.
